The UNICEF working paper, published in March 2026, focuses on the perspectives of children and adolescents gathered through research. The children and adolescents envision a digital world that serves the best interests of the child. In addition, the adolescents have formulated six recommendations based on their vision of the digital world:

1. Transform digital education through rights-based literacy

2. Ensure transparent, age-appropriate platform communication

3. Combat AI-generated harm through comprehensive safeguards

4. Establish a global well-being framework

5. Strengthen legal protections and enforcement

6. Empower youth to co-design and monitor progress towards equitable systems
