The United Nations is committed to ensuring that children and young people can grow up safely in a digital world, while actively involving young people themselves in this process. Since artificial intelligence is an increasingly important part of this, the UN is now seeking to learn about young people’s experiences. To this end, a survey was developed by 5Rights Foundation, the United Nations Office of Human Rights, the “Child and Youth Friendly Governance” project, “Child Rights Connect,” the “Digital Futures for Children” center, and the Office of the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General on Violence against Children.

The survey is voluntary and open until May 28, 2026 (for individuals under 18). No personal information is collected, and responses will be treated confidentially.

The participants’ responses will be compiled into a report and used to present the perspectives of children and young people at the “Global Dialogue on AI Governance” forum on July 6 and 7, 2026.
