Two years after the adoption of the Better internet for Kids (BIK+) strategy (see also: child-friendly version), the European Commission is calling on parents, carers, teachers and educators to take part in the first evaluation since the adoption in May 2022. Click here to register and take part in the consultations!
The BIK+ strategy seeks to make digital services more age-appropriate while ensuring protection, empowerment and respect in the digital environment for all children in Europe. The aim of the strategy is threefold: 1) to create safe digital experiences, 2) to empower children online and 3) to actively involve children's voices. As part of BIK+, the ‘Better Internet for Kids’ portal provides a range of studies, best practices and resources.
Why is it important? Taking part in the evaluation will allow you to play a direct role in reviewing policies that affect children's lives and activities online.
How does it work? The consultation format will involve taking part in a group discussion with a few other parents and carers. The discussion will last about 1.5 hours and will be held in English. It is possible to get a certificate of participation.
When are the consultations? Once you haveregistered, you can select several possible dates for the consultation:
Friday, 17 January, from 10.00 to 11.30 CET
Monday, 20 January, from 10.00 to 11.30 CET
