The UNICEF report was published in September 2026. It focuses on young people’s perspectives on artificial intelligence (AI). To this end, 96 children from five different African countries were surveyed. Among other things, the study examined which skills children and adolescents consider important when interacting with artificial intelligence.
The results show that young people generally use AI for a variety of reasons. However, there are also concerns, such as those regarding privacy. Among the essential AI skills mentioned were reflective use and a thoughtful approach to sharing data.
