The report by the co-chairs of the Special Panel on Children’s Safety Online has been published. The report addresses the findings of the deliberations regarding a potential age restriction for social media. The Special Panel has formulated various recommendations for the Commission. Among the proposals is that children under the age of three should not be exposed to digital devices. Furthermore, the report proposes restricting access to social media for children under 13. It also states that social media providers should be required to demonstrate that their products do not pose a risk to children and adolescents.
