Why are youth voices so often left out of conversations about tackling child sexual abuse online?
Today, on #SaferInternetDay2025, the Brave Movement launches a campaign focusing on young people's experiences of child sexual abuse online and launches a new report is researched and written by youth advocates from across Europe, who understand the crisis from personal experience and who are rising eperts in this space.
The report “From Data to Dialogue: Youth Perspectives on Child Sexual Abuse” gives their perspective on the impact of child sexual abuse online and how it can be tackled. It draws on young people's experiences and describes how scarily easy it is for perpetrators to abuse children online, and calls on governments to hold accountable the platforms that have a responsibility to tackle this crisis that has been allowed to escalate.
This campaign is a call to decision-makers across Europe to listen to the voices of those most affected by the child sexual abuse crisis and to act now.
