On the third day of the Internet Governance Forum in Kyoto, Japan, many events were focused on children's rights. Topics included how to develop technologies that promote the well-being of young people, how young people can get involved and participate in decision-making, and how their data can be protected and handled responsibly.

Debates on Day 2 at the Internet Governance Forum addressed in various way issues of children’s rights to protection, provision and participation.

The role of artificial intelligence plays a major role in many events of the Internet Governance Forum 2023, but also in the corridors of the Congress Centre in Kyoto and in discussions during breaks. Common to these conversations are, on the one hand, the great expectations and hopes associated with the technologies.

With the events of day 0, the 18th Internet Govenance Forum began in Kyoto, Japan, on 8 October 2023. More than 8200 people will come together in the coming days to discuss all relevant issues of internet policy and regulation. On 13 September, the 14th National Internet Governance Forum Germany (IGF-D) took place at the Federal Foreign Affairs Office in Berlin.

Until October 20, the European Commission is conducting an online consultation procedure on the development and strengthening of an integrated child protection system.
